How do I get a message to go out, even without the computer being.

J

James

I have been trying to send out my "Quote of the Day" emails in the morning,
before I get in the office. However, the way I have it set up now, even
though I ask it to send at 6:00 AM, it won't send the message out until I
turn on the computer and open up Outlook. Do you know how to get the message
to go out, even without Outlook being physically on, at my computer?

Only possible when your store the messages on a server like Exchange and not
in Outlook.
How do you see Outlook sending anything when ing when it isn't running?

Apparently you're referencing something in the rule that makes it a
client-side rule. If, for example, you're referencing a draft or OFT on
your PC, your PC has to be on and running Outlook in order for that file to
be used.

I understand. How do I store a message on the Exchange? We use a server at
the office, so I should be able to do that, but I am unfamiliar with it.
Thanks.

How do you have it setup? What triggers the quote to be created in an
e-mail? For instance; Do you do this each night manually?

I manually send out an e-mail to everybody (as a distribution list) in my
office, every day when I get in the office, but I set the "Don't deliver
before" setting to the next day, early in the morning, before I get in.

Then it should work if your Exchange account is the default delivery
location. When you are using Outlook 2003 with Cached Mode enabled verify
that you also synch your Outbox. If al is setup correctly you'll also see
the message in the Outbox when connecting to your mailbox through OWA.
