How do I get excel to auto fill data?

I type the same thing over and over again in excel daily for work. Is there a
way that when I typ something in one field it automatically knows to put
something in the next field?
EX: In one field I type 665 and it knows to put Scott in the next field?

Please say so because its so redundant.

Yes, the feature you're looking for is called VLOOKUP. Just create a list of
the items you wish to match and put a VLOOKUP formula in the cell where you
wish the match to appear.......such as =VLOOKUP(A1,YourTableRange,2,FALSE),
where YourTableRange is the range of cells where the list resides, and A1 is
where you type the key value like 665...

Post back if you run in to trouble.....

I am unsure of what you mean. Can you explain slower or do you have instant
messager that you might be able to draw me through it.
Do you mean that when I type in 665 the next cell will know to fill it in as
Scott?

Exactly..........make your list somewhere out of the way, like in M1 put 665,
M2 put 667, M3 put 669, M4 put 671, and M5 put673, and in comlumn N, put the
corresponding names next to the numbers in column M, like Scott, Bill, Sam,
Mary, and Jane

then in A1 type one of the numbers you put in column M, and in B1 put the
formula

=VLOOKUP(A1,M1:N5,2,FALSE)

The corresponding name will appear in B1
