No, Word is not (legally) available for download anywhere. If you need more
Office apps than just Word and are a student, you may find that Office
Standard for Students and Teachers is your best bet. Otherwise, get Works
Suite 2005, which includes Word 2002 and several other useful programs (see http://www.microsoft.com/products/works/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=001). Given
current street prices and the $20 mail-in rebate in effect, you can acquire
it for well under $75.
You can buy it. You can download a trial version that will expire soon but
are probably better off purchasing either Works Suite or Office for Students
and Teachers (if you qualify).
You might want to have a look here: www.openoffice.org - it's a free Office package that will more than
adequately cope with most home user's requirements. It's also compatible
with MS Office formats and it's *FREE* !
