how do I get office 2000 to work on vista

Why would you expect such an old, an no longer supported by Microsoft,
program to run under a brand-new operating system, especially while it
is still in beta?
I would have been surprised if it did work!

Because, we expect all legacy software to run on the most current
operating system. ;-)

I don't think Office 2000 is that old, I expect Vista to be able to
run Word 2 - just like it does in Windows XP. <g>

Can you explain a bit about how it 'blocks' Office 2000 help?
Are you referring to online help, or the local help files?

It sounds like you were able to install Office 2000. Is that correct? What was the sequence of installing Office and Vista RC1?

I installed Office 2000 from my original cd.Each time I start Vista I am
given a list of programs which are "uncertified" Office is one of them. When I
open word I get a message " no changes can be made in this program". Outlook
is not certified and will not open.Office updates will not run,
