How do I get Outlook to stop trying to integrate with Groupwise?

Corporate email frustration

Groupwise crashes when trying to send email from within Groupwise with MS
Outlook installed (2003). Mail settings in control panel don't help either. I
do not need Outlook to check email- only to synchronize tasks, memos, etc.
with a Pocket PC. I absolutely hate using Intellisync. Any ideas?
