How do I get periods to automatically populate tab space?

It's a bit difficult to explain, so I put a Word file here that does
what I'm asking about...

If you type in a word and then tab, the tab space is automatically
populated by periods. Is a macro used to do this? If so, can somebody
post the code that performs this specific function? TIA

It is called a tab leader. Format > tab and set a leader style for that tab.
