How do I get Powerpoint to play a clip that is on a CD?

I am taking an online class and I have CD's that have animation and clips on
them. I can get the animation to work with the instructor's voice if I go to
the slide show. But I can not get the clips to play in the slide show or in
normal view. I do get the instructor's vioce and a lined bock, where the clip
is suppose to be playing, in normal view but I get nothing when I go to slide
show. So how do I fix this?

What does "clip" mean? Is this referring to clip art, movie clips, sound
clips, something else?

Which version of PPT are you using?
