How do I get Powerpoint to save the "show on" monitor?

When I change the "show on" monitor under "set up slide show" it does not get
saved. Every time I load the file, I have to respecify the "show on"
monitor. How can I fix this?

Do you have dual monitors set up permanently? My experience is that the setting
is saved in the application, not the presentation.
