How do I get powerpoint to update data daily from excel formula?

I have a presentation designed for an office lobby and cannot figure out how
to have an excel formula embedded into the slideshow change without shutting
down the presentation and restarting it. The formula displays the number of
days without a safety mishap. I thought by making the powerpoint show a
playlist it might update...it didn't work. Any ideas would be appreciated?

Brent, for an embedded object you will have to go in and change it manually
to get it to change unless you mean a linked object which operates
differently.

You can try my free add-in - Update links -
http://skp.mvps.org/updtlinks.htm. Paste link the desired cells in to the
PowerPoint slide. When you run the slide show with the add-in loaded the
contents will refresh every time it loops. If you intend to edit the Excel
spreadsheet while the slide show is running, ensure that the worksheet is
set to work in shared mode and not exclusive.

Hello, Shyam.

Doesn't your UpdateLinks add-in work in PowerPoint 2010 (64 bits) ?
I loaded the add-in but couldn't find the menu interface to make it work.

Thank you.

Hello Shyam

In Powerpoint 2007, how to you access the configuration window for you UpdateLinks Add-in?
