How do I get rid of a bad .pst file?

I can't close it; if I try to close it, I get the error; "The operation
failed, the object could not be found". I get the same message if I open it's
properties, and I select "advanced".

If you don't want it at all, close Outlook, delete the .pst file, open
Outlook, get a prompt about the missing file, and have Outlook create a
new one.
