how do I get rid of "error! bookmark not defined"

I marked all words in document that I wanted in index. couldn't figuire out
how to get rid of {xe ****} so i started deleting them. ok for a while but
now all of a sudden I have "error! bookmark not defined" all through my book.
how do i get rid of them. Allan [email protected]
