how do I get rid of squares in a word document?

How do I get rid of the squares on my word doc. I have saved a doc on a pen
drive, and I took it to a different computer and it has squares in place of
some of the text. Even on the computer I created the doc in does the same
thing. Help??????

What font did you create the document in.
