How do I get shapes in word draw to overlap?

I am trying to create a 'different' venn diagram in word (the ones that you
can automatically put in isn't what I need). When I draw a 2nd (or 3rd or
4th) circle, the 2nd circle hides part of the first circle. How can I get
the shapes to overlap and show through so that you can see the entire circle
for all of the circles?

You can change the transparency of the objects in front, on the Colors and
Lines tab of the Format AutoShape dialog.
