How do I get the new blank project to default to Enterprise Gant v

MSP2K7
I have modified the enterprise global to have additinal columns and when I
open the Enterprise Global, I see the extra columns.
However, When I open MSP2K Pro and do a file, new, blank Project, the view is
default to Gant, Not enterprise gant. How do I get the new blank project to
default to Enterprise Gant when opened?

In the Ent.Global Template select Tools/Options from the menu. On the
Display tab, select the deafult view to Ent Gantt Chart.

Although Paul suggests you set this option in the Enterprise Global file, I
don't think that setting this option will affect your Microsoft Project 2007
users the way you want. Remember that the Enterprise Global file is your
organization's "library" of enterprise custom Views, Tables, Filters,
Groups, etc. It is NOT the location from which you can specify Tools -
Options settings for each user of Microsoft Project 2007.

To solve your problem, you would need to ask each of your project managers
to do the following in Microsoft Project 2007:

1. Click Tools - Options.
2. Click the Default View pick list and select the Enterprise Gantt Chart
view.
3. Click the OK button.

If you have any enterprise project templates in your Project Server system,
you should open the template for editing, apply the Enterprise Gantt Chart
view, and then save the template. Hope this helps.

Nice try, but it doesn't work the way you think. Remember that the Default
View option is an application option that controls how Microsoft Project
2007 looks and works REGARDLESS of which project you have open. The reason
it works for you is because you set it on YOUR copy of Microsoft Project,
but it won't affect anyone else's copy of Microsoft Project. That's why I
told Brad that he needs to have every project manager set this option on
their own copy of Microsoft Project 2007 on their own PC. Hope this helps.

I also stand by my original answer to Brad that you cannot control Tools -
Options settings for everyone by setting them in the Enterprise Global file.
I tested this as well, and there is no change in Project Server 2007 from
2002 or 2003. Each user must set his/her Tools - Options settings manually,
or a I believe a network administrator can do a Registry push to accomplish
this as well. Hope this helps.
