How do I get the old (2000) "New Message Received" box to appear?

I have a user that we recently was recently upgraded to Office 2003 and has
found that Outlook 2003 does not have the alert box that comes up with new
email "New message as arrived. Would you like to read now?". He has
asked that we remove the new software. I am hoping that someone knows how
to configure this option so that we do not have to reinstall his system with
old software.

You can add a rule that brings up the new item dialog box for all incoming
messages. Just create a rule for incoming mail that has no selection
criteria (hit Next when you get to that dialog and verify that you want the
rule to apply to all messages) that displays a message and the alert box.
