How do I get the original 3-panel screen after checking email?

After I check my email, how can I get back to the original Outlook screen...
the one that has my appointments / my to-do list / my email boxes? The only
way I seem to be able to do that is to close it down and re-open it.

Click on your top level folder for Outlook Today.
