How do I get the view to stay the way I set it?

I have Windows XP 2002 Version. Every time I go to My Computer and search
for something I have to change the view. Is there something I can do or is
this something the IT department will have to do? Or another way: Is this
unfixable because Windows made it that way and I'll just have to keep
changing the view?

This is not an issue relating to MS Office applications. Your window
view should open as you closed it, UNLESS you are switching to maximize.
Don't MAXIMIZE, just stretch it. Further difficulties should be
directed to your Help Desk.

I assume you mean the way the files are displayed, i.e. details, list,
icons, etc. If so, that's easy to fix. Just go into My Computer and
display the files you want them to be displayed. Once you have it the way
you like it (I have mine set to display details, easier to sort), go up to
Tools, Folder Options and click on the View tab. In the top section will be
Folder Views with 2 buttons. Just click Apply to All Folders and click your
way out. Close My Computer and reopen. It should look the way you had
previously set it.
