How do I have MS Access open an application then the file?

I have created hyperlinks to PDF files in a MS Access database. However, when
selected by some users the links work and when selected by others the links
do not work. On the computers that the links do not work, Acrobat reader
looks like it is going to open (it flashes onto the screen), but then quickly
closes and the user can't access the information.

To make life more interesting the links are found by searching through the
database and results are dynamic. Is there is a way to have MS Access open
Acrobat Reader first and then open the specific PDF file for the links? Would
this be the best solution or is there another possibility?

Sincerely,

Clifford Easton

Have you tried opening the files on those computers external to Access.
(Going to the location and double-clicking? Then trying the same thing
but having access open but not using it to open acrobat reader. Memory?

Ron:

Yes. The files with a PDF extension are opened by Adobe Acrobat and open
fine when selected through Explorer. I have also tried having Adobe Acrobat
open first and then selecting the link in MS Access; all to no avail.
