How do I have the task pane list more than 4 previous documents?

When you open an application and the task pane appears, ther is a list of 4
previously opened documents/worksheets/etc. I want to list more than 4. Is
that possable? can this be done when clicking on the file tab as well. It
list 4 and I want to list more?

In Word, Tools->Options->General tab. Select the number of items you want
to appear in the most recently used list. The maximum is 9.
