How do I hide email's when sending an email to a distribution list

I know I can just put the distribution list in the BCC field and send the
message to myself, but it seems like there should be a simple way to display
the list name instead of the 30+ email addresses I am sending to.

Only if the list is hosted by a server that resolves the list name into
individual names. You can always make up a dummy email address with the list
name and use that for the To.
