How do I hide the Help Panel?

Each time I open Excel, a "Help" panel appears on the right side of my
screen. I do not want this to automatically appear. The closest I have come
to closing it, is <CTRL> <F1> but that command doesn't stay. How can I do
this? Thanks!

Click TOOLS in the menu and select OPTIONS and if necessary, click the VIEW
tab.

The first panel on the VIEW tab is SHOW, click the STARTUP TASK PANE check
box to turn off the window pane. The next time you start Excel the TASK PANE
will not automatically load.

When you open your Excel application, go to Tools > Options > View

Then uncheck the box saying: Startup Task Pane

That should solve the issue.
