How do I identify different numbers to a table of numbers

E

Erich Niemand

I have a table with 10 rows of 6 different numbers each ranging from 1 to 49.
In other words I have 60 fixed numbers. When another range of 6 numbers only,
which falls in the range 1 to 49, gets presented I want the numbers, in the
table of ten rows, that agree to any of the 6 numbers presented, to be
highlighted in the table to enable easy identification.
This I would like to use when playing a lotto with the 10 fixed ranges of
numbers every week. I then just enter the real 6 winning numbers and any of
the 60 numbers agreeing to the winning numbers will light up.
I am thinking in the line of conditional formatting comparing ranges with
each other.
I am using Office 2000 Pro and was hoping there was a ready template
available.
Can anyone help.
Thanks

Hi Erich!

Assume that the range of fixed numbers is in the range
A3:F12 and you enter the drawn lottery numbers in the
range A1:F1.

To apply conditional formatting:

Select the range A3:F12.
Conditional Formatting
Formula is: =AND(A$1<>"",OR(A3=$A$1:$F$1))
Select your format styles.
OK out
