How do I import Outlook 2003 PST for use with Outlook 2000?

Robert Judge

I use Outlook 2003 on one computer and Outlook 2000 on
another. I want to export a PST from 2003 for use with
2000. In 2003, I created a "data file" as indicated for
this purpose. But Outlook 2000 won't recognize the PST
that was created.

I was suspicious, because the PST file created by 2003 for
use in 2000 seems to be much too small to include all the
information from 2003. But, maybe I'm not just properly
handing the process of creating and/or importing the file.

Can you provide detailed steps for this process? Maybe
I'm missing something. Thank you for your attention.

You need to add a pst to the outlook 2003 profile that uses the old format
(Outlook 97/2002 format) - add it using Files, New, Outlook Data files then
copy the messages to it. if you use the Outlook97 format in Outlook 2003,
you can just make a copy to move to the other machine.
