How do I insert Drawing Canvas

I am trying to create a DVD cover using word but I cannot find how to insert
a drawing canvas. I am using XP Home Edition

Hi Pam,

Using Insert=>Picture=>New Drawing will insert a drawing canvas, although that may not be the graphic item you're looking for.
You may also want to use View=>Toolbars=>Drawing to make your choices for shapes, text boxes and such visible.

Hi Bob
Thanks for that, but I have already tried that route and I do not have New
Drawing on my version of Word. That is my problem really, how do I get it?

You can draw in Word without a drawing canvas.
