how do i insert sub-script?

i am writting a paper and need to know how to use subscripts.

In Word, go to Help and do a search on subscript.

Select the text that you want to be subscripted, and either click on Format |
Font | check the "Subscript" box | OK, or hold down the Ctrl key and press
the = key.
