You need to go to the control panel and select regions and language option.
Then in there you find the options to add other languages. You should have
a check box for adding asian languages, then you probably need to reboot, go
back to region and language options, then look at the other 2 tabs and make
your selection. Sorry for not being exact, I can`t remember the exact
layout and the computer I`m using as a reference is XP Pro SP2 but Japanese
version and my Japanese reading isn`t that great yet. But all you need to
do is set it up in the regional settings.
OK that installed the language but I can't figure out how to cativate it to
type in Japanese. I see where I can select it from the language bar, but
nothing seems to be happening?
Sorry for the late response, was away for the weekend. If you see the IME
icon on the task bar, such as EN click on it to change it to JP, then you
should get a little language taskbar. From there you change the input
method, from Roman, Hiragana, Katakana. Choose Hiragana then you start
typing, for example if you type konnichi wa, as you type in ko, it will
change to the hiragana character.
I tried that before but now it is working so Thank You.
