how do I install mdi from office 97

I know Microsoft Digital Imaging is supposed to automatically load/install
when Office is installed but mine is not. Where in the blazes is this
option? Does it even exist or is the installation of MDI conditional on how
Office 97 is installed?

Don't believe everything you know. Microsoft Office Digital Imaging was
first available in Office XP (2002). You need a later version, and it is
an Optional install.

Hi Orpheus,

MS Office Document Imaging, which uses the MS .mdi file type (a modified TIFF format) was, as Bob I mentioned, introduced with
Office XP(2002).

MS Digital Image products were a different, non Office product previously titled MS PictureIt!, now discontinued. (
http://microsoft.com/products/imaging ) The MS Office Photo Editor (not related) was included with Office 97. Office v7(95) had MS
Imager, which was replaced by the MS Office Photo Editor.

well, to say the least... your answers confused me at first as I know I
somehow got it on my machine. I had to struggle to figure out what I had
then that DID install this feature on. I believe I have it: Microsoft
Publisher 2003. I'll re-install that and see if that's where it came from.
But your answers triggered the thought process to locate it.

THANKS!!!!
