I have Office 97 Professional Upgrade on CD, and want to install it on my new
Dell Inspiron 510m laptop, running XP Home SP2. The Office 97 install
requires either a previous version of Office to be installed (it isn't) or
the install diskette (yes, diskette - the original full office licence is V2
- very old, but a valid version) to be present in the floppy drive.
Problem - there is no floppy drive.
I have tried copying the install diskette contents to CD on my desktop
machine, then to the HDU of the laptop, and then letting Office 97 install
look for it - but this does not work.
Any known work arounds?
Thanks.
