How do I install webserver on my local machine

Dan

I want to publish my existing website to my laptop so that I can work on the
site from home. I seem to remember from FP2K that one had to have a server
installed locally to get the maximum functionality on ones local machine.
Can someone explain how to install a web server on my local machine (running
Windows XP Pro) so that I can run FP2002 with as much functionality as
possible? Or point me to a website that explains it?
TIA

In Win XP Pro add remove components windows components install IIS
- then download, install, and apply the FP SE per

I just tried this. XP appears to have installed IIS and FP SE, all from the disk. The problem is, I can't find it now! Where exactly is the server located, and should there be any entries in the programmes listing under the Start button?

My other query is why do I need to download FP SE. It looks as if this was done when I added the IIS components from disk.

You can find the IIS admin tool under Administrative Tools in Control Panel.
Don't attempt to work directly with any web server folders directly, but
through the Admin interface and FrontPage only.

If someone told you that you need to download FP SE, they were wrong. You
are correct that the Server Extensions come with the IIS installation.
