How do I just keep my header on first page in a letter?

I am having a frustrating time trying to keep my header only on the first
page of my letters. My header is my Letterhead with company name, address,
etc... My letters are longer than 1 page and I do not want to have my header
recur on my subsequent pages. I have followed this: File, Page Setup,
Layout, Different First Page checked off. But that just seems to eliminate
the header I have on the first page! Any assistance would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks Adam

You should have selected "Different first page" before you inserted the
header. But that's okay... click on View | Header and Footer, arrow down to
the the header on the second page, select the header, press Ctrl+X to cut the
header out of page 2, arrow up to the header on page 1, press Ctrl+V to paste
it into the header of page 1, and close the header.
