If your goal is to reduce spam from lists, then use one address for private
mail and another for lists and newsgroups. Periodically, delete the public
address and replace with a new one.
When I changed ISPs not long ago, my spam went from about 70 spam messages a
day to a just a few per week.
Don't ever respond to take me off your list as it just verifies your address
as good.
