How do I link a letter to access db

I have an old Access DB that has been converted to Access 2003. There is an
SQL link that enables Word Mail Merge to happen from various Word docs held
in a seperate folder.

Some of the Word Docs have lost their links and when I try to get back to
the Source database, I can only see half of the Queries from Access and
amongst the missing ones is the Query I need to link to. Although the box
says "Select Table", clearly some of them are queries.

I have also tried to input links into a new document and using the Browse
facility I could not get to the correct Query either

Does anyone know what I am missing. Why is the source data (queries &
tables) so restricted ?
