How do I make a banner span more than one page wide at print?

I want to print a title for a poster that is more than one page wide

Preferably Word, although PowerPoint would be OK also. I just want the words
in the title to go in a single line across a series of pages, without spaces
and breaks between pages.

I found this rather an intriguing problem and I obtained a
solution that may not be entirely satisfactory since it involves
some care in joining multiple printed sheets. However, the
multiple sheet problem is always going to be be there since I
think the maximum page length is 22 inches (I am I right?) and
the average, even small, poster is about 3 feet across.

My setup is Arial Font size 72, Page setup: Landscape, Top
margin 1.25", Left 0.2", Gutter 0, Bottom: 6", Right Margin
0.2", Gutter position: left.

I will be very interested to see what others come up with!

You're looking for a feature called "tiling." I don't know about Word, but
PPT doesn't do tiling. You might consider printing to a PDF and then
printing the PDF to your printer -- PDFs will do tiling. Some printer
drivers will also do tiling or banner-type prints.
