How do i make a conditional statement to incorporate a label in a header in word

L.S.

I am using the following statement to insert different labels with a
mergefield in a word document. This seems to be working fine within
the body of the document but not in the header or footer. I have been
testing this in word 2000, word 2003 and word 2007.

{includepicture {if condition is true "path and documentname" else
"path2 and documentname2"}}

Is this a bug or should i do it otherwise?

Thx for the response

Are you saying you're putting merge fields in the header? What type of merge
is it (Letter, Catalog/Directory, etc.)?

Thx for your reply:

I am using word
In the header section I included the statement
{includepciture {mergefield} }

When running mailmerge the includepicture does not show the to be
included item

When running the same statement its does however show in the body text
of the word document?

How come?

Thx
