how do i make a gif run once then stop?

I want an animated gif on a frontpage site to run once then stop!! Can't seem
to figure it out.....Help please.

You need a GIF Animation Editor so that you can open the image and set the length of the animation,
etc.

you set this in the animation/graphics program (or any gif animation
program - eg from ULead or other product) you used to create it.

if you didn't make it yourself, then find a copy of Microsoft Gif animator
(once upon a time, this came with MS Image Composer or any other product) to
open the file and adjust the settings, especially the "repeat" setting from
"forever" to "1".
