how do I make a picture a background for a powerpoint

I cant seem to figure out how to make a picture that i already have on my
computer the background image for a powerpoint presentation. What I am
trying to do is to make a certain pic the background image for the entire
powerpoint presentation

Go to View > Master > Slide Master. Then go to Format > Background. Click on
the color box and select Fill effects. Click on the Picture tab and browse to
your image file. Click OK and then click on Apply to All.
