How do I make individualized reports for each row of excel data?

I have an excel spreadsheet and I need to make an individual report for each
case. I have the text formatted in word, is there an easy way for me to link
it so that it will make an individual report for every state or am I doomed
to embed each individual field? I thought that mail merge would work but if
it can do this I can't figure out how.
