How do I make music play during a transition?

I am using PowerPoint 2003 and have inserted a CD to play for the
presentation. However, the music will not continue to the next slide. The
only way that I have been able to get around this is to insert the music onto
the following slide as well. Except then the music stops during the
transition. How do I get the CD to play thoughout the entire presentation
without any breaks in the sound?
