How do I make my own monogram?

I have been goofing around already in Word and have had a hard time making a
monogram for our wedding. I heard that it might be easier in Publisher or
even Power Point. Can anyone help me? I am thinking about trying to make it
so that the last initial is behind our first initials or as a watermark.

One way to do this might to be to create the individual
letters using word art. Click on the Word Art icon. Then
I'd select the option in the upper left hand corner.
Select the font you want. Select the colors you want for
your fill and lines. Do this for all three letters (3
separate times). When you are finished with the letters,
Send the middle letter "to back" then position all three
how you want them horizontally and vertically.
