How do I make my own template in Power point?

I am so tired!!!!! I just want to set a jpg image as the permanent background
to my slide show!!!!! How do you do this???!!!! Please help!!!!!

1) sleep
2) View menu
3) Master
4) slide master
5) format menu
6) background
7) click that triangle that's pointing down to make a menu pop down
8) choose "fill effects"
9) click the Picture tab
10) click select picture
11) Find your picture, select it
12) click OK, OK
13) click "apply to all"
14) coffee
