How do I make Office 2007 Beta 2 files compatible w/ Office 2003?

I have downloaded the Office 2007 ProPlus Beta 2, and have used it
extensively. I am unable to read any of the files I have created using 2007
Beta 2 in previous Office versions, such as Office 2003 Pro. Does anyone know
how to fix this, or if it can be fixed? Thanks!

You have to save files as 97-2003 in the save options if you want to read
files created in Office 2007 Beta, on other machines. If you want to, you can
set the default to save as 97-2003.

Wow. That was easy. Thank you very much! Also, do you know how to restore
Office 2003 once this Beta is deactivated? (In the case that I am unable to
purchase the full version before Beta 2 is deactivated)

Hi Pilot,

You have a couple of options. You can disable the features new to Office 2007 or use File=>Save as and save your documents in
Legacy (Word97-2003) format or you can download and install the
File Format Awareness Pack plus the Converter Pack to add to your Office 2003 installation and you can then both read and save
documents in the new file formats from Office 2003.

From http://downloads.microsoft.com click on the 'Office' choice on the left and then double click the 'date' column to sort by date
(to get newest on top) and you'll see the downloads.

You will have to uninstall the Beta and reinstall Office 2003 from CD...but
that will not happen until February 2007! I had forgotten the converter that
you can download to enable you to read files in either the 2007 format or the
earlier formats. It is useful to have on your computer, but if you are
sending files to other people who do not have either the converter or Office
2007, then it is still better to save as 97-2003

Did you "upgrade" 2003 or tell it you wanted to run both?

At the least, you'll have to uninstall the beta and reinstall Office 2003.
