I guess I don't understand what you're having trouble with. Just set up the
animations you want to control to start "on mouse click," and set the others
to start "with previous" (with a delay as needed) or "after previous" as
necessary.

Or are you looking for an "click to animate and then transition the slide
automatically" option? It sounds as if you want the opposite of that, which
is pretty easy to do using PPT's animation features.

what im lookin to do is to start the powerpoint with one click and have the
first slide do all its animations using the timing feature however i dont
want the slide to change over to the next slide until i press the click
then i want the timing feature used again and then click for the new slide
to start with the timing feature.

Okay, just set your animations to "with previous" or "after previous," and
set your slide transitions to manual (on mouse click). Remove any checkmarks
in the slide transition "automatically after XXX seconds" box.

Oh, and make sure you're set to "speaker," not "kiosk" in Slide Show|Set up
Show.
