how do I make the task plan smaller

The task plane takes up half the page and i can't make it smaller how do i do
this.
each time i go into help I can't see half my work

Grab the corner or the side and pull it closed to your liking

Move your mouse over the left edge of the task pane until it becomes a
two-sided arrow, then click and hold the left mouse button and drag it
towards the right side of your screen to make the task pane smaller.
