How do I make Visio 2003 connectors behave like Visio 2002 connect

I've recently been forced to switch to Visio 2003 (from 2002) and I'm having
a terrible time using the connectors. When I try make a right angle (ex: up,
then to the right), the tool will change the right angle while I'm trying to
connect (ex: "up, then to the right" becomes "right then up"). I can't
figure out how to disable this automatic routing. I just want the connectors
to behave like they did in Visio 2002 (i.e. - stop guessing what I want let
me control the connector).

Have a look at the settings in menu
File -> Page Setup - Layout and Routing
