How do I manually uninstall office

I am getting the following error when trying to remove
Office 2000 from a Windows 2000 Pro machine.

This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the
patch package exists and that yo can access it or contact
the application vendor to verify that this is a valid
windows installer patch package.

Anyone seen this before? Know how to fix it? If not can
you direct me to instructions on how to uninistall Office
manually.

I am getting the same message under WinXP and Office XP.
