How do I merge several documents into 1 document?

At work, Facilities e-mail multiple word documents to me in Lotus Notes. I
select all attachments and right click to "save all". I would like to know
how to save, for example, 3 documents as 1 document.
I already know that I could open each attachment separately, save in our
share directory and then copy and paste all 3 docments into 1 page and then
save. I would like to know if there is an easier way.

Open a blank Word doc, select the multiple attachments, drag and drop
them on the Blank doc and then Save As.
