How do I Move a Row(s)?

Imagine a spreadsheet with the five following rows:

1 / A
2 / B
3 / C
4 / D
5 / E

When I used Microsoft's sub-excel spreadsheet on my PC, I could move the third and fourth row to the top of the page in two easy steps:

1. Highlight and Cut (I can't remember the exact command)

2. Paste on top of row #1.

Doing so would not erase rows 1 or 2; it would simply push them down, making room for rows 3 and 4. The result would look like this:

3 / C
4 / D
1 / A
2 / B
5 / E

But the process is much more tedious on Excel. If I paste one row on top of another, it wipes it out. So I have to insert a new row(s) to make room for the row(s) I want to paste in. Furthermore, when I cut the rows I want to move, I essentially transfer the contents, leaving empty rows behind. So I have to go back and delete those empty rows.

So, is there a simple way to move rows, without having to insert new rows where you want to paste them or going back to delete the empty rows you left behind?

Thanks.

You Betcha!

After cutting/copying Control/Right-click the cell whare you want to paste
but choose Insert Copied [or Cut] Cells rather than Paste or Paste Special.
