How do I move Email messages from Outlook 97 to the XP version?

I have tried to find .pab and .pst files using right click on "Start" then
"Explore All" then"C:" and then "Search" but it requires me to downlaod some
softwqare to open the file I found and I have no idea what to do then.

Don't try to double-click to open the file. Copy it to the location you wish
and then you can open it in Outlook - file | open.
Also, you don't need a PAB file - if you have stuff in your old one, add the
PAB service to your mail profile in Outlook 2002, and then import items from
your PAB to the contacts folder, and get rid of the PAB service. PAB is no
longer needed in OL2000 and up.
