How do I multiple word documents in date order?

I would like to print a copy of word documents created over the past few
months. I have used search to find, select and arrange these in date order,
but when I print them they are in a random order.
I would like to be able to print them in date order so that I can file them
in date order. At the moment I have to select a few at a time and print them
in batches which is quite long winded but also still does not put them in
date order within the batch.
Have tried help files and on-line but no joy. Any help/tips gratefully
received.

You must send them to the printer in the order you want them to print.
Open Windows explorer. Sort by date r-click the first one, Print, rclick
the second, Print etc.

Thanks for that Bob. Is that the only way ? there are over 140 documents -
mainly 1 - 2 page letters.

You must specify the order they are to be printed in some manner. You
could drag and drop each file on the printer Icon, you could write a
batch file file that listed each file in the order it is to print. So no
it isn't the only way. But you can't just select a group and send to
printer as the "sort order" is a visual thing, and doesn't affect the
order in which the files are located and passed to the print queue.

Many thanks Bob. Any idea how to write a suitable batch file - sorry am a
beginner for this type of thing ?

A batch file is where you have the name of each file in the order you
want them to print. In the time it would take you to create, configure
and test the batch file, you could have done these one at a time. You
can r-click print at least 15 per minute, which would have taken 10
minutes tops.
