How do I open a database that is locked b/c of "another user"?

I am trying to open a single-user database. I accidentaly updated my backup,
exited the program when I realized my mistake. I then copied the updated
file back to my hard drive, and then tried to open my database to make
further updates.

Ever since, I got the error message "The Microsoft Jet database engine
stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the
same data at the same time."

I restarted my computer, and even opened other databases where I also
accidentaly updated my backup - all my other databases seem to work, but I
can't get this one database (my most critical database) to open. I also
tried importing the data to a new database, but I get the same error message.

Any ideas?

Look in the directory where your file is located and before trying to
open it, find the file YOURFILENAME.LDB and delete it.

Thanks for the suggestion, Joseph, but I do not have an ldb file for this
document. I double checked that I can see the ldb file by opening another
database, and it was there for that second database, but not the first.

Do you have any other ideas?
